Cleaning and Maintenance
Brass, Nikral Lega Zama and Aluminum.
The majority of our products are manufactured from these materials and as you may be aware these metals and alloys have their limitations.
Brass products electroplated in Satin Chrome or Polished Chrome should be cared for with the use of a soft cloth and methylated spirits. Polished Brass should be cleaned with a mild soap and warm water only.
In the case of chemically etched soft finishes such as, Antique Brass (AB) and Patine Steel (PS), use beeswax or furniture oil to maintain the surface luster. For more detailed information, please refer to our web sites Materials and Finishes section.
Nikral Lega Zama and Aluminum should be treated with care and cleaned only with warm soapy water.
28%Pb Crystal
Our crystal products are 28%Pb. This means it has a lead content of 28%, allowing for greater light refractory throughout the item, giving it a much brighter look than ordinary glass.
We recommend the use of warm water with a mild soap and a non-abrasive cloth to wipe down crystal items to prevent the build up of grime from ones hands over time.
From time to time, we also recommend the use of Windex or a standard glass cleaning solution to further enhance the crystal’s clarity after the grime build up is removed.
Stainless Steel
Products produced from Stainless steel are made from either 316AISI. This grade of Stainless Steel very durable in harsh atmospheric conditions although it is imperative that this material is are cared for throughout it’s working life and this includes regular cleaning as part of their maintenance.
We recommend the use of warm water with a mild soap
and a non-abrasive cloth. This will stop the build up of grime and other deposits found in the atmosphere both on external and internal applications. We strongly advise that a thorough wash down of the items follows this cleaning process.
If scratches are noticed on the surface of the products we recommend the use of grain-impregnated pads such as ‘Scotch-Brite’ to be used following the direction of satin at all times.
